 Blessed Evgeni Bossilkov
Paul of the Cross on Prayer On Inocencio's feast day the Spanish people are still coping with the brutalities of the Spanish Civil War. While many innocent people, like Inocencio, were killed by "leftists" in Asturias, the harsh reprisals of Franco caused himt to be called "the Butcher of Asturias". Irish Passionist Shot in Johannesburg survived by prayer
An Irish priest hailed as the first person in South Africa to volunteer for a trial AIDS vaccine was shot and badly wounded in an attack on Thursday, March 1st.. After undergoing surgery he was reported in serious condition in the intensive care unit of a Pretoria hospital. Father Kieran said he survived by prayer. He said his attack by a gang of nine men was "horriffic". The group stripped him, beat him, and shot him at close range in the lung and stomach. Somehow the priest survived and prayed. At one point he asked God "not to take me". At that point he knew he would be OK.
Father Kieran Creagh, C.P. who directs an AIDS hospice north of Pretoria, was attacked by eight men who shot him twice and later fled with his cellphone and money from a safe, police spokesman Lucas Sithole told the SAPA news agency.
Creagh, from Belfast in Northern Ireland, was named "Irish Person of the Year" in 2004 for his work with HIV/AIDS in Africa, which included volunteering as a test subject for an AIDS vaccine candidate in 2003.

 An Irish CP "Berrigan"
Saint Charles on Irish TV Monstrance saved and sent to CP Mission
Parishioner Mugged 101 year old Rose Morat was mugged on her way to Mass here at Immaculate Conception Monastery. She received international fame for putting up a fight against her attacker and saying, "Fifteen years ago we would have had a tussle...I'm quite sure that if it had happened when I was younger, I would have been after him." "I'm a 101 years old. Come on, I'm slowed up a little bit because I have 2 broken hips." "I have no hate in my heart for the man. It's just that I don't want him hurting a lot of other people. He could have killed me. Really, he could have. But I'm strong." Gifts are coming to Rose c/o the parish from everywhere. The District Attorney tried to meet with Rose but she declined since she was in a "canasta tournament". The mayor wants to have lunch with Rose. And Rosie O'Donnell wants Rose to appear on her TV Show. But Rose said she is not interested in going on TV with "Rosie O'Grady or whatever her name is". Fr. Lee Havey has visited Rose a few times and said she just wants to get back to her regular routine.

Robin Ryan: “papabile”
Robin Ryan tried out a new “papal election board game” that was featured in the Chicago Sun Times. Robin’s cardinal was “a stand-out tennis player” who chummed “around with a couple of Opus Dei cardinals”. After two stellar rounds of “reputation-building and political maneuvering” he began to lose his footing and lost out to a “cardinal from Panama”. You can find out more about the game at www.vatican boardgame.com
